Barnyard Animals – Cornfield Maze – Pumpkin Patch –  Barn Market

Besides the friendly Barnyard Animals waiting to be fed, the Cornfield Maze to wander through, the Barn Market for country shopping — and the real Pumpkin Patch … there’s more fun at Ganyard Hill Farm than you can shake a stick at!

Climb up Haystack Mountain

We have an adventuresome haystack!  With a large pipe through it, serving as a tunnel. We even have a tunnel slide into hay mountain, which kids from a local school named the “Bumpy Slide”.

Did we mention our Corn Crib?!

A giant sandbox — but filled with dried corn!  It’s the most fun for kids to have a romp in.  Crunchy goodness that’s a one-of-a-kind experience.  Bring your camera for candid shots of Kids in the Corn!

Hey! Did you know we have a Hay Maze, too?

More aMAZEing fun!  The hay maze is made out of real farm bales of hay, just like those used to feed the animals, mulch the fields, decorate for Harvest!!  Kids can explore and find the fastest way to the end of the maze. Then exit, and go back through again, as many times as they want.

Americana at its best – and old-fashioned Farm Hayride!
Climb into an authentic farm wagon filled with bales of hay!  Settle in for a tour of the farm while an antique, but still operational,1967 John Deere 3020 diesel tractor pulls your wagon through the fields, past the barnyard, the pumpkin patch, the cotton and corn fields.

See Sherron Forest
Farmer Ganyard cut a hayride trail thru the woods last year — and named it the Sherron Forest Trail!  Not only do you get to see the farm fields with all the different crops, you’ll also get to ride thru the enchanted Sherron Forest where you might get to see some of the local wildlife.

Picking Cotton at the Farm …
… is a real ‘hands-on’ experience for the kids!  Farmer Ganyard’s cotton field is just like those cotton fields back home! Pick a boll or a bagful to keep. (Look for crafting ideas in the Farm Blog.) Get a copy of the Cotton Fact Sheet or download it from Teaching Resources.

*Hay, by definition, includes dried grasses. The ‘hay’ at Ganyard Hill Farm may also include, in addition to fescue and/or other grasses, wheat straw, rye grain straw, and/or other similar types of grain by-products.
